DEVASTATING BEAUTIFUL LOVE STORY! It has taken me a few days after finishing to be able to properly articulate what I wanted to say about this book. I was so excited to read this book after loving Troy, book 1 in the series, so much. I do have to say that I was a little worried that this book would not live up to the hype I had built up but it went well beyond what even I could imagine.

This book picks up where Troy ended, so you really can’t read this series out of order, or else you really won’t get the effect of the background story that underpins this book.

Dylan knows what he is. He is a drug runner for the Fianna Fail. He is living large with easy women, easy cash and respect that cannot be bought. He is loyal to the family and loves what he does. Even after watching his best friend find the love of his life and settle down, he has no intentions on following suit.

“I can’t imagine every loving someone the way they clearly love each other.”

What he does not expect is to be knocked for six by one glimpse of Raven across a crowded party.

“..I know this girl is nothing like the girls I…toss away. This girl won’t settle for being disposable. It’s a shame, because I can’t see myself ever wanting more…”

Raven is not interested in his advances or status or what it means for her to be with him and shoots him down. In reality, Raven is not interested in any man. She is hiding secrets that no-one can know about. Even though it is destroying her soul, she cannot let others see what is haunting her every waking moment. She does what she can to survive her circumstance without spreading the poison.

“It’s my own world of beauty that can’t be penetrated by the demon that invades my life of a daily basis.”

It is apparent after only meeting once that Dylan and Raven both have a profound effect on each other and are drawn to each other like moths to a flame. Both Dylan and Raven’s realise their feelings are foreign to anything that they have experienced before.

“I’ve never experienced this before, and my body and mind are at war with each other” ~Raven

“I need to get control of this violent need to protect Raven that’s raging through me. It’ll properly scare the hell out of her. Hell, it scares the hell out of me.” ~Dylan

Without giving too much of the plot away – a major life event happens that blows the lid on all the secrets which have been hidden and lurking beneath the surface for far too long. Once the lies have been exposed, life changes drastically for both Dylan and Raven. There was a twist that took my breath away and I could not help but feel the raw emotions for all the characters involved. Both are forced to confront issues which have been put on the backburner. If they want to give their relationship a go they have to move past what has previously held them back and rely on each other’s strength to get them through. Can their relationship be strong enough to survive the oncoming storm or will their demons engulf them completely?

Dylan grew into his role of lover and protector of Raven. Once he admitted that he was beyond sunk by Raven, there was no stopping him. He came out in all his alpha, dominant, protective glory. He knew what he wanted and was willing and able to adapt for his girl.

“Raven has no idea the amount of power she holds over me already. F!@#, even I didn’t really want to think about what all I would do for her…”

For me, Raven was the epitome of a strong and selfless female character. That she was willing to do and sacrifice anything so that those around her do not have to suffer unnecessarily underpins her throughout this book.

If I had to sum this book up to a couple of words to convince you, I would say that this book made me FEEL.

S Kline took me on an emotional journey that devastated me, had me on the edge of my seat in suspense, had me smiling and had me fanning myself. She made me live the emotional journey of the characters as if it was my own and had me invested in the story from the very first page. But please take note of her warning for this book, as it really may contain triggers for some readers.

It is a mixture of emotion, action and romance bundled into explosive books. I recommended this book to ALL smutty romance lovers who don’t mind a side of grittiness with their story.

“Life is about letting go, trusting and realizing that even if you get screwed over, you learn from it. Life is about more than playing safe. I don’t want someone I can live with. I want someone I can’t live without.”

**I was gifted this book for an honest review**
