REVIEW: Deep Redemption by Tillie Cole

Deep Redemption Banner

AMAZING! Absolutely freaking amazing is the only way to describe this latest installment of the Hade’s Hangman series. Tillie Cole transports readers into a world that is not understood by many and delivers a raw and emotional read that shows that goodness does not always come in the form that you think. That loyalty, love and justice has no side of the law but what is within oneself. I cannot get enough of this dark romance series that delivers every time.

This review is a bit vague but I believe that this is a book that you need to go into blind and experience exactly what the characters are going through without any preconceived notion.

I will freely admit that I was not too sure that I could get into a book with Rider as the main character. Avid readers of this series will know the history between Rider and my beloved Hade’s Hangmen. So I was equal measures of intrigued and repulsed at the prospect of him being redeemed and finding his happiness. Yet the way that Tillie can create an emotional pull to her characters had me quickly changing my mind and turning me to be a Rider FAN.

Harmony was the breathe of fresh air when Rider needed it the most. With Harmony also coming from within the faith, this book took a bit of a different turn from previous books, where two were questioning everything that they believed in and finding their place in the world and with each other. Yet her strength, true selflessness and innate need to do what she believes is right bolsters this book. Her love and nature is pure.

Without a doubt there were moments in this book that had my heart in my throat and at one point I was convinced that I couldn’t go on. To say that I was confronted was an understatement. And let me be honest, not much typically bothers me as a reader, so for me to have a moment is a true testament to a writer.

What I love most about this series is the interwoven relationship between good, pure evil, doing the right thing, finding yourself, happiness and true love. It is about opposing sides of a coin and discovering that what on the surface appears the right side, is all but an illusion. True love, bonds and brotherhood can be disguised as the complete opposite but under the surface the true nature of humans will always prevail – be it good or evil.

What I adore about Tillie the most in her books is the way that she demonstrates that LOVE is SELFLESS. It is this notion that has me returning to her books time and time again.

This is not a series of the faint of heart. It is a minefield of triggers for a lot of readers. But if you like your romance shrouded in darkness and shadows but where love overcomes all demons and shines a spotlight on what it means to be someone’s everything, then this book and series is a MUST read. Hold on, because Tillie will manipulate your emotions like no other to give you a true reading experience each and every time. Highly recommended.
