Weathered Love is a story of second chances, finding the one to weather the storms with, family and acceptance. Tracie Redmond is a literary queen in the way she rips readers apart with the angst and then puts them together again with such a true love story.
So….I am the first to admit that I wasn’t sure if I could possibly enjoy a book about Camaron after reading Guided Love. I just did not think that there was a redeeming quality that would endear me to his story. I was adamant going into this book that I could never like an arrogant jerk that couldn’t see past his own nose and how his actions affected him.
But the true sign of a good author is that they can draw you into a story and the emotions behind their actions and change your perception of a character on its head. And this is exactly what Tracie Redmond did in Weathered Love. I really enjoyed this book
Can a character be redeemed and find their true selves through finding the right one? I have to say that it was Camaron’s journey that dragged me into this story, despite my hesitation. Once you delve into the background of his life, what he has always thought of himself and they way people treat him, you start to realise there is more to this character than destruction. It is amazing how perception can change once you get inside the mind of a character. It was the self discovery and finding that he was a better man because of someone else that endeared me around to turning how I felt on it’s head.
I have not read a character like Jessica in a very long time. I love that we get such a unique, selfless and genuine character. Never did I feel like her actions were part of a ploy or an act to fool anyone. The way that she was able to see in others what no-one else took the time to notice without becoming a doormat, was so refreshing.
It has been a while since I have read a slow burn book. I really enjoyed the anticipation of these two coming together. The way that they got to know each other and develop a real connection before deciding to take it to the next step. But never did I feel like it was dragging or taking too long for them to come together. Tracie made every interaction count in these two journey, and made the love story standout above all else.
The secondary characters play such a huge part of Tracie’s stories to highlight that they are more than a group of friends, they are a family. I love, love that we got a lot of Samantha and Axel in this story. Their infectious nature bleeds into the other characters and brings them to life. It was also through these characters that I got glimpse of my fave – Ma – from book one through the pearls of wisdom that just keep on giving. I am going to admit that I loved the side story of Paul and Carrie’s story. The way in which Tracie has set up another story to rip readers apart before she puts them back together again.
I never thought I would see that day that I found any reason to sympathise with Roni. Have to say that I am a little excited to see where she goes in the future.
While this book can be read as a standalone, I think that readers would get much more out of this story and characters if they read Guided Love first (which I absolutely loved).
The tension, angst but overwhelmingly beautiful love story of acceptance in Weathered Love will draw in just about every romance readers. I stand by my previous statement that this author’s storytelling is exceptional and draws you right into the story. I can’t wait to see how it all works out for the next “prick”.

About The Author
I was born and raised in Northeastern, Pennsylvania where I still live today with my husband and three beautiful children. Like everyone, I have had my ups and downs and have seen my life take a complete change. Previously, I was a working mom putting in 60 hours a week as a Financial Advisor but with the sudden loss of my mom who was my best friend I found myself giving up the suits and meetings for jeans and snack time. I have always had the passion for reading and found an escape through the words of all the talented authors I have read. My passion allowed me the opportunity to blog and to get a wonderful insight into the indie world. I have enormous pride and stay true to the characters and their stories as they reveal themselves to me. I am so excited to have this opportunity to share my stories and hope you love them as much as I do
