REVIEW: Take Me by Sophie Holloway

Take Me Banner

The lessons are sure heating up

Take me definitely takes it up a notch in both the heat between Eva and Jack and the suspense. As this is a serial, it takes up directly where book 1 left readers hanging. This is NOT a standalone – book 1 does need to be read first.

I do have to say that I enjoyed this book more than book 1 in the series. This is mostly to do with the fact that I was prepared for a huge chunk of the story line to be the suspense and mystery around Eva. The other part of it is that we get a lot more the promised heat between Jack & Eva as they move their arrangement forwards by leaps and bounds.

Jack grew on me throughout this book. He went from a cocky, arrogant alpha-hole into more of a protector and lover type role. What endeared me the most was those moments of indecision where you could see him struggle with the developments between him and Eva. He had such a strong conviction of what he wanted in this sexual arrangement, that when it started to deviate he was not sure what to do.

What drew me in the most about Eva in this book is how she is able to maintain her air of innocence even though she becomes less inexperience. That she is able to find her groove, stand up for herself, ask for what she wants and still retain who she is at her core is awesome.

The secondary storyline around Eva’s safety really drew me in in this installment. I became a lot more invested in wanting to know what was happening and what was going to happen next. Sophie uses her words brilliantly to build the suspense and make you wonder if a particular part of the book is related to what is going on.

The “lessons in seduction” really ignite the passion between Eva and Jack in Take Me. Their chemistry is a mix of off the charts, rip clothes off and sweet and tender. Eva’s education moves forward in leaps and bounds in this book and with it, brings a side of mischievousness that she did not have before.

I really do like the writing style of Sophie Holloway. She has an easy mannerism that makes the words effortless to devour and kept me turning the pages to find out what happened next. This book is fast paced and packed with plenty going on but never was it overwhelming in detail. I can’t wait to see what happens to Eva after that doozy of a cliffhanger at the end of this book.

But she’s untouchable. Off limits. And the most captivating woman I’ve ever met I’ve never wanted a woman the way I want my business partner’s little sister. But I’ve learned to hold back when it comes to the seductively innocent Eva.

Until the day she asks me to teach her everything. Absolutely everything. Every position, every seductive trick, every wicked, forbidden way I’ve ever pleasured the women I’ve brought home.

I’ve wanted him for years.

Jack Bennett is sinfully gorgeous, utterly charming, and, as rumor has it, a GOD in bed.

The time has come to shed my virginity, join the ranks of women having sex in the city, and learn how to please a man.

Who else would I ask but him? My teenage crush, and the only man who has ever made my bones melt with one dark, sinful look.

The problem is–someone doesn’t want me to move beyond the fear and pain of the past, and that someone is closing in on me…

TEACH ME is a serial romance and ends in a cliffhanger.

About Sophie Holloway

Sophie Holloway is from her favorite city on earth–Manhattan. When she’s not writing, she’s likely lost in a museum, basking in the sun in Central Park, or making excuses to buy gourmet cupcakes. She likes shoes, rooftop parties, lockets with surprises inside, arts and crafts (both in equal measure), long goodbyes, longer hellos, good friends, strong coffee and even stronger men. She hopes to meet her very own Prince Charming someday soon!
