An awesome conclusion to Alex & Libby’s story. Karen Frances delivers everything that readers have come to expect from her through this series. He’s Captured My Soul is a book full of angst, happy times, sad times, friendships, shocking twists and above all, love conquering. This book had me in tears and overjoyed. I have really enjoyed every part of this couple’s journey.
This is CANNOT be read as a standalone. Every book MUST be read in order.
It is hard to write a review for a 3rd book without giving away spoilers from the previous books so this review won’t cover much of the storyline.
Throughout this book I continued to fall in love with Alexander for the most part. Even though he still retained much of his alpha tendencies, he was not afraid to show his love and affection for Libby openly and honestly – for the most part. And when he did stumble, the way that he dedicated to make it up to Libby was endearing and heart warming.
It was in this book that the reader really hot to experience the strength which Libby has grown into throughout the series. Her ability to be able to face any situation with class was amazing. After all the trials she endured it was awesome to see her survive and find happiness. There is nothing more appealing to me than a self assured and developed female lead character.
As is par for the course with Frances’ writing, I really enjoyed the element of shock that was included. It perfectly complimented the hearts and flowers of the love story.
The heat and chemistry between this pair is still of the charts even after 3 books. The sensuality is high and the scenes steamy. I liked that soft and sweet was counterbalanced with raw and unbridled. Karen does an amazing job with these scenes to capture the moment.
There were moments throughout this book where I felt a bit rushed and glossed over. It doesn’t materially change the story and is just my personal preference for more detail in certain situations.
The Captured Series is a read that all romance lovers will find appealing. It covers the drama, love, passion and angst for the most disconcerting of romance readers. And while this is the end of Libby & Alexanders love story, I am excited for the next couple. who you get a glimpse of. Can’t wait to read more.
