I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this book. As always, Mo drew me into the emotions of this story and made me FEEL. The words on the page were a lyrical masterpiece that took me on a journey through the peaks and troughs of Blake & Casey’s story. And now that it has finally concluded makes me look back at the journey and wish I could take it all over again for the first time.

For fans of this series that have been put through the wringer, this is without a doubt the HEA we have been waiting for. With all the heartache, angst and uncertainty of ever living fully within their love well and truly behind them, Anchor gives us the truth of what Blake & Casey’s unbreakable bond really is. It gives us what their love should have always been from the first moment they were inexplicably drawn to each other in Hook, Line, Sinker.

At the end of Sail (and expressed in that review), I knew that Blake & Casey were not characters that I would typically have the time of day for. My draw to this series has always been M Mabie’s utterly magnificent writing style and aptitude to tell an awesome story. Yet through this book I found my attitude towards this pair shift drastically. It made me reevaluate what I thought and see through different eyes.

If there is one adjective that I could use to describe Casey as true to form it would be – BELIEVER. Sure he waived at times, but he knew Blake was it for him. Once he got his fairytale he did everything in his power to show he meant it. There were so many times that I was literally swooning. Yet, it wouldn’t be Casey without some of his quirkiness and quick wit. The dude is an absolute master at banter. But more than anything, unlike many other BBF out there, Casey has never been afraid to wear his heart on his sleeve. It was endearing that he loved Blake so much.

I assure you that I have not been a fan of Blake at all throughout this series. Her continual selfishness drove me to insane to the point where I desperately wanted to bitch slap some sense into her. But Anchor had me reevaluating my judgment. Once she let her barriers down and just started living, she became much more likable. I discovered a whole new side to Blake that I felt had been hidden in Bait & Sail.

The writing of this story was utterly superb. There were times were I was crying from the touching moments, to laughing out loud at the light hearted, fanning myself at the heat and overjoyed that everything worked out as it should.

There were some extremely hot scenes in this book that captured the mood and explosive chemistry between this pair. They were not overwhelming nor did they distract from the storyline. In fact, I think that they were used perfectly to compliment the moment and emotion between this pair.

This series is best described as one of extreme emotions, both for the characters and how readers felt about the characters. If you are a fan of extreme angst, off the charts sexual tension and chemistry, emotional reads that make you feel and an author who presents as amazing storyline, then you can’t go wrong with M Mabie and the Wake series. Anchor was truly the ending readers needed.

Synopsis

I believe in love at first sight.
Now I know soulmates exist.

Nothing has ever been easy for us.
Every fight, every struggle, has been worth it.

I’m stubborn, but what woman isn’t?
She’s hard work and I love the overtime.

He’s frustrating and unpredictable. I hope he never changes.
I love driving her crazy. That’s half the fun.

Lou’s sexy curls.
Honeybee’s pink nose.

He still looks at me like I’m precious and unflawed.
She treats me like I’m the center of her world.

Our future will be full of happiness.
Despite everything, we’re two of the lucky ones.

I took the bait.
She was a lucky catch.

He is the wind in my sail.
She’s the anchor that grounds me.

The wake our love made is beautiful.
Every day I thank God for her.

No matter the hurdles, we’ve jumped them side-by-side.
No matter the obstacles, we’ve made it through together.

For better or for worse, I’d do it again.
I’ll love and protect her all the days of my life.

We made it.
We always will.

Author Bio

M. Mabie lives in Illinois with her husband. She writes unconventional love stories and tries to embody “real-life romance.”

She cares about politics, but will not discuss them in public. She uses the same fork at every meal, watches Wayne’s World while cleaning, and lets her dog sleep on her head. She has always been a writer. In fact, she was born with a pen in her hand, which almost never happens. Almost.

M. Mabie usually doesn’t speak in third-person. She promises.
