Big Bad Wolfe by Elle Doolittle

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Add to Goodreads:

Sarah Maxwell had spent years trying to forget one man. She buried herself in her family’s business for nine years, trying to forget the scent of his skin and the way his body felt against hers.

How could one night mean so much? Do so much damage?

Self-made and very successful businessman Falon Wolfe can’t get a certain luscious redhead out of his head. He travels the world turning failing companies around by any means necessary. In his private life, he’s hardly without female companionship. But no one gets in. No one stays.

At the request of his grandfather, Falon finds himself at Maxwell, Williams and Blake, a place he vowed never to return to. Sarah Maxwell stirred something in him he hadn’t felt in a very long time, and he wanted nothing to do with it.

What he did want was Sarah, as many ways as possible, while he was in Chicago. And when the job was done, so was she. That’s the way it worked with Falon Wolfe and the women he bedded; always had and always will.

The past has caught up with them. A future together looks impossible. The only thing either of them knows for certain is being together means they will both have to learn to break their own rules.

The writing of this review has had me stumped for days. This book has presented me with such a conundrum that it has been difficult to put into words.

For 9 years Sarah has been reminiscing about one hot night in College with a man that does not compare to any other.

So you can imagine when this same man, Falon Wolfe, walks into her ailing family business to help turn its fortunes around that she is thrown off her guard. As soon as she sees him her attraction surface’s but does he remember her?

Falon is your typical high powered businessman. He is aloof and does not want a relationship. But he can’t deny the attraction he feels towards Sarah. He tries to stay away but finds himself drawn to her.

Will Falon remember the night that he spent with Sarah or will they both het caught up in lies about their past?

I really, really wanted to love this book. I was hooked by the premise and skipped it up my TBR. Unfortunately, there was something missing in the execution of this story. For me, the angst of the past was a bit off.

There is no denying that there were some really steamy scenes in this book that made me a bit flustered. The chemistry between the two was off the charts.

And while I really don’t mind the odd typo and grammatical mistake, I was under the assumption that this book was released through a publishing house and there were many elementary mistakes that should have been picked up and corrected.

Would I read something by Elle Doolittle again? Well the answer is yes, because I think that she has great storylines and will only grow in her execution.
